Opening prayer: God our father, you
have caused the grace of baptism to bear such fruit in your servant(s), that he
(they) now strive to follow your son more closely. Let him (them) rightly aim
at truly evangelical perfection and increase the holiness and apostolic zeal of
your Church. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and
reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.

Prayer: (Solemn
blessing by main celebrate): Father in Haven, you
are the source of all holiness. When you created man, your love for him was so
great that you gave him a share in your own divine life. Neither the sin of
Adam nor even sins of the whole world could make you give up or change this
living purpose. In the earliest days you showed us in Able the way of goodness.
In late so dearly, you rise up holy men and women graced with every virtue. Foremost
among them all stands Mary, the ever virgin, daughter of Sion. From her pure
womb was born Jesus Christ, your eternal World, who became man to serve the
world. You sent him, father, to be our pattern of holiness. He became poor to
make us rich, a slave to set us free.
With love no words can
tell, he redeemed the world by this paschal mystery, and won from you the gifts
of the Spirit to sanctify his Church. The voice of the Spirit has drawn
countless numbers of your children to follow Christ. He (they) leave(s) all to
bind themselves to you in the bondage of love. With ready will and loving heart
he (they) give themselves to you and to the service of your people.
Look with favor, then
on this (these) man (men) who have (has) the spirit of holiness, and help him (them)
to fulfill in faith what you have enabled him (them) to promise in joy. Keep
before his (their) eye(s) Christ, the divine teacher, for their constant study
and imitation.
Give him (them) perfect
chastity, joyful poverty and whole-hearted obedience. Crease in him (them) a
humble heart to please you, a ready heart to be one with you always. Keep him
(them) patient in time of trial, steadfast in faith, joyful in hope, and
tireless in works of love.
Make his (their) way of
life build up the Church, advance the salvation of the world, and be a
convincing sing of the blessings of the world to come. Lord, protect and guide
this (these) servant(s) of your. At the judgment-seat of your Son be yourself
his (their) great reward. Give him (them) the joy of vows fulfilled. Made
perfect in your love, may he (they) enjoy the communion your saints, and with
them praise you forever. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen.
