(Rising the Lazarus)

Time:              Vague

Place:              Bethany in Judea

Person:           Jesus, Mary, Martha, Disciples, Lazarus, The Jews, Villagers, Pharisees, The Chief Priests, Caiaphas

Situation:        Death of Lazarus and glorification of God

Form:                         Miracle story

Need: v-14:     Lazarus has died

Deed: v- 43:    He cried out in a loud voice

                        Lazarus Come out

Result: v- 44: The dead man came out

                        Jesus said untied him

                        And let him go

Reaction:

a)      Positive Reaction: v-45:   Many of the Jews who had come

                                                                                      seen

                                                                                      began to believe in him.

b)     Negative Reaction: v-46-53

v. 46Some went and told the Pharisees

v. 47-The chief priest and Pharisees:  -     What are we going to do?

                                                                  This man is performing many signs

v.48-                      If                                 we leave him  alone

                                                                  all will believe in him

                              and                              the Roman will come

                                                                  take away our land and nation

v.49-                      But Caiaphas:             You know nothing

v.50-                                                          nor do you consider

                              that                              it is better

                              for                               one man should die instead of the people

                              so that                         whole nation may not perish

v.51-                      He prophesized :         Jesus was going to die for the nation

v.52-                      and                             not only for nation

                              but also                        to gather into one the dispersed children of God

v.53-                      so                                 they planned to kill him
