SELF EVALUATION

Religious life is a life that as a community or individual is self-sacrifice life, which is Christ centric.  In this life, one can experience more deeply Christ and his companionship and love. I believed Jesus called me to enjoy with him his companionship through this religious life. 

                        I am experiencing one year of religious life after I pronounced vows. During my one year of religious life or vowed life, I experienced Christ’s love as well as God’s providence on me from different aspects. I experienced many positive values in religious life. The most highlighted aspects in this life are vowed life, community life, prayer life and also the pastoral life.

                       

MY RELIGIOUS LIFE :One of the most important aspects of religious life is the vowed life. It is easy to pronounce vows, but difficult to keep or lead life according to that except one’s earnest perseverance, prayer, meditation and above all God’s help.

                        Human being naturally wants comforts, freedom and pleasures. These three vows (Chastity, Poverty and Obedient) are against these three wants human being. It’s a life of total self-surrendered.

During this one year in religious life, I had to face many difficulties to be firm in my vowed life. Several times there were temptation to go the vows. It is true that always I couldn’t over come temptations. But most of the time I was able to overcome the temptations by prayer, meditation, reading gospel passages, consulting with the spiritual directors, sharing with the peer group and so on. But above all these when I could totally surrendered myself to God and I was able to make Christ the center and model of my life, I was able to lead a good vowed life. I also realized that when I was indifferent in prayer life, spiritual life as well as spiritual direction; I start shaking.

As days pass, I start thinking about myself and my vocation more deeply, helping by the Rectors, spiritual directors and observing my religious life; I evaluate myself that I found difficult to fulfill the requirements of religious life. As it becomes clear to me, “what really the religious life is”, I feel I am unworthy and my mind does not willing to take the challenge. This, I also feel that whether I continue this religious life, I may be get unsuccessfulness in this way of life. This I am saying after observing myself; my feelings, my prayer life or spiritual life. I am not courageous enough to take challenges for this religious life.

As I go to core of heart, I realize that there was a wrong idea about the religious life. But within these years I tried to understand what is Oblate religious life as well as religious life and to be happy in this life. And last here I found that I am not happily living in this life. And in future, I may regret and will not be happy.

THE POSITIVE VALUSES THAT I SEE WITHIN ME, ARE MOSTLY THE GIFT OF RELIGIOUS LIFE :  I discovered lot of positive values in the religious life and because of them today I am able to discern my vocation. I acquired good values that definitely will help me to lead a very good Christian life and the values and gifts I received from the Oblate Congregation that is beyond measure, which is very much constructive and useful in my day today life. Starting from the academic life to spiritual life, everybody in the congregation helped me to grow spiritually as well as intellectually and to understand the real meaning of religious life and the Oblate religious life. I am very very grateful to everybody. I will never be able to forget their love and concern for in my life. On the other hand, I really regret that I am going to miss such  good congregation and the community.

The Positive qualities that I have observe in him are:

1. He can be a good preacher. I appreciate his patience, endurance and perseverance.

2. I saw he has great patience.

3. He can make other happy and joyful.

4. He has the Attitude of helping others.

5. He is outspoken.

6. He is sincere and prayerful.

7. He has the sense of belonging.

8. He can accommodate with any situation as well as people.

9. He is committed to do better in his responsibilities.

10. He is intelligent and a good student.

The limitations that I see in him:

1.      I think he is not very much interested in recreation  or games.

2.      I think he talks little more.

3.      I feel that he wants easy life.

4.      I think he some time likes particular persons.

5.      He some time gets angry.

The Positive qualities that I have found in him are:

1. He is Responsible and sincere.
2. He can work hard and do work fast.
3. He is a good student.
4. He is prayerful.
5. He is a good sportsman.
6. He has concern for others.
7. He helps others.
8. He has sense of belonging and he also community minded.
9. He can make others happy.
10. He is very frank with every body.

The limitations that I see in him are:

1. He needs to argue less.
2. He some time gets angry.
3. He talks little more.
4. Sometime he must think before speaking.
5. He likes holydays.

The Positive things that I have seen in him are:

1. He is sincere and responsible.
2. He is a good student.
3. He can work hard.
4. He is trustworthy.
5. He has the sense of belonging.
6. He cares for others.
7. He is a good sportsman.
8. He is helps others.
9. He is prayerful.
10. He is good in typing.

The limitations that I have found in him are:

1. Some time he gets angry.
2. He keeps anger within him self.
3. He is strict and little bit rigid.
4. I feel that he is not open enough.
5. He speaks directly whether a person gets hurt or not.

The Positive Qualities that I see in him are:

1. He is a good musician.
2. He is dependable.
3. He has concern for others.
4. He helps others.
5. He is a hard workingman.
6. He thinks for the community.
7. He has the sense of belonging.

10. He is responsible.

The limitations that I see in him are:

1. He is slow to do his work.
2. I feel that he is little harsh.
3. I feel that he is negligence sometimes.
4. I feel that sometime he is commanding.

1. He is very humble and gentle.
2. He is sincere.
3. He is trustworthy.
4. He is responsible.
5. He is prayerful.
6. He helps others in need.
7. He thinks for the community.

10. He has the sense of belonging.

The limitations that I have seen in him are;

1. Sometimes he is very calm and quite.
2. I feel that he is slow to act to the need.
3. I feel that sometimes he wants to avoid the reality.
4. He gives important to some prejudices.

The limitations that I see in him are:

1. Sometimes I feel that he is very negligent.
2. I feel that he looks for comfort.
3. I feel that he is lazy to study.
4. Sometimes he can be very daring.
